The Delhi government announced a weekend curfew in the state which will start from this week because of rising Covid-19 cases.
This time Delhi may see ‘red alert’ restrictions under the color-coded Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
These include a total curfew, essential services will be open but a shutdown of non-essential shops, malls, and salons, and there will be more restrictions on public transport, weddings, and funerals.
Today, The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) decided on new restraints and restrictions in Delhi.

In the virtual press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Manish said, “There will be a curfew on Saturdays and Sundays. People are requested to step out only when it is absolutely necessary. The weekend curfew will begin from Friday evening to Monday morning.”
From the officials, it has been revealed that in Delhi it is 6.46% with the Omicron variant urging most of the cases and On Monday, the capital is quickly increasing the positivity rate with 4,099 new cases in 24 hours.
Also, today Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms.
Till now, Delhi is under a ‘Yellow Alert’, it is the first level of restrictions under the GRAPH. On Tuesday, India has reported 37,379 fresh COVID-19 cases and in the last 24 hours, India has reported 11,007 recoveries and 124 deaths.
