The Delhi Disaster Management Authority has Imposed the Night Curfew in Delhi from Dec 27 onwards till further notice. The restrictions will be imposed from 11 pm late night till 5 O’clock morning. As the new variant of COVID-19 is spreading very fast, the city is expected to see a series of restrictions, and citizens need to follow them with care. This move has come into force as the city recorded 290 fresh COVID cases on Dec 26 i.e Sunday. With this, a jump of about 16 % is seen in the Covid Cases in the last 24 years with one associated death. The positivity rate of COVID has climbed to 0.5% which is a critical state, according to the official health bulletin.
The city government has also said that if required in the future, a yellow alert will also be imposed in the city. These jobs are done under GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) which decides the possible imposition and lifting of the restrictions. GRAP is approved by the Disaster Management Authority of Delhi. Depending on the situation, the DDMA will impose appropriate restrictions on the welfare of the citizens of the capital.
The activities that were come to a grinding halt after the weakness of the second wave may lead to more and more restrictions if applicable. The operational timings of shops and malls will be controlled accordingly. They will be allowed to open from morning 10 am to 8 pm under the odd-even rule.
If the yellow alert is issued, the restaurants and cafes will be allowed to operate with 50% capacity from 8 am to 10 pm. The bars and spas will be permitted to open from 12 noon to 10 pm with the capacity of 50% customers. Multiplexes, banquet halls, auditoriums, and Cinema halls will shut down as per the situation. However, in this case, Hotels will be permitted to remain open with Covid guidelines.
In this series, yoga centers, gyms, and entertainment parks will also be shut down including swimming pools and stadiums. However, national and international sporting events can be organized with COVID protocol. Public parks will also remain open till further notice.
