Navratri Celebration: Kalash Sthapana Date and Muhurat

The occasion of Kalash Sthapana for Navratri, also known as Ghatasthapana. The Shubh-Muhurat for Ghatasthapana begins at 06:17 AM on Thursday, date October 7, 2021. As per the Hinduism Panchang, Kalash Sthapana Muhurat for the Ashwin Navratri 2021 starts from 06:17 AM to 07:07 AM in the morning on October 7, 2021.

Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana is a significant ritual during the festival of Navratri. It marks the starting of nine days of this festivity. The most auspicious time or Shubh Muhurat for the Ghatasthapana is assumed as the first one-third of the day with the prevailing of Pratipada. If because for some reason, you are not able to do the Ghatasthapana at this time, then you can do that during the Abhijit Muhurta.

Celebration of Navratri Festival

The celebration of the Navratri festival sums up good over evil. On this occasion, devotees plead with Gods/Goddesses to restore the dharma. People in Bengal design and decorate pandals to hold pujas, feasts, and fun activities to celebrate the Navratri festival. At this festival, people dressed in their best. 

Also, idols of Goddess Durga, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Laxmi, Goddess Saraswati, and Lord Kartikeya are installed. Devotees keep fasts for days. Some people only fast on the first and last Navratri, and some people keep the fast for all nine days of the festival. Unmarried girls are fed and worshipped as assumed to be incarnations of Devi Durga.
