Two union ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah both are tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The duo has given this information on Twitter saying that “I have tested positive for COVID-19 today and experiencing mild symptoms. I am under quarantine.”
Also, the minister has requested everyone who came in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested.
There are many ministers and politicians including the chief minister of Delhi also tested positive a few days before in the ongoing surge of COVID third wave that is triggering the fast-spreading Omicron variant in the country.
Mr. Shah has tested positive as his report came a day after UP cabinet minister Kamla Rani Varun died from a COVID infection. Apart from these leaders, the Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Governor of Tamil Nadu have also tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Amid the election rallies and campaign, Swatantra Dev Singh: UP state BJP president also positive for COVID 19.
After testing positive, Amit Shah has been admitted to the renowned private hospital of Delhi NCR “Medanta Hospital.” He also tweeted that, “I am feeling OK and admitted to hospital on medical advice.” Mr. Shah is undergoing treatment in Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
The COVID-19 is spreading very fast with a new name “Omicron” in India and abroad. There are about 3007 Omicron cases so far detected in 27 states and UTs as per the data released by the Health Ministry today. As the virus is spreading in India with a new mutated form, the schools, colleges in the national capital, and other states are shut or about to shut. The weekend curfew is also imposed in most of the states from 10 pm to 5 am in the morning. The government requests people to avoid shaking hands and maintain social distancing by continuously wearing face masks to contain the spread of COVID-19.
